Major and Principal Support

Major Support

The largest roof span of its type in England, with no tie beams or rods holding it up, will be stabilised and theatre equipment installed on its trusses to realise the major transformation of this extraordinary space. (Roof: 18m wide using elliptical arches).

Principal Support

Opening up the beautiful, West facing windows into the Corn Exchange and letting natural light flood back in is a principal move to restore the original early 19th century features and will enable audiences to view artists work in progress.
