To celebrate our rich performance heritage, we are dedicating a selection of the brand new seating in the Corn Exchange and Studio Theatre to several well-loved artists who’ve played here over the years - the likes of David Bowie and Ella Fitzgerald – so you may end up in a seat named after your favourite artist!
If you would like to put your own name – or that of a loved one - on a seat alongside one of the greats you will be supporting the transformation of these two magnificent buildings, so we can welcome new generations of artists for many years to come.
As part of our major refurbishment, the number of seats will be significantly increased (up to 500 in the Corn Exchange and 200 in Studio Theatre) and state-of-the-art and more accessible facilities will enhance the experience for our audiences, including sound-proofing, acoustics, temperature control and wheelchair provision.
Seats available from £600 in both venues. Spread payment with direct debit options from just £25 a month. For more information please call 01273 260818 or email email@example.com and we can send you a leaflet. Or download our Seat Appeal form.
‘I am naming a seat in the Studio Theatre as a local business owner, to support this inspiring project in the heart of the city, and a way for me to give back to the town I grew up in’ Clare Rogers, The Treatment Rooms
Plaques will be positioned on the back of seats in most cases. There are a few seats in the balcony where this is not possible due to the seating layout, and in these cases the plaque will be positioned either on the wall directly behind or on the balustrade directly in front.
All inscriptions will remain on the seats for 20 years, after which Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival may need to remove or replace the seating.
You can choose whether your seat will be in the Corn Exchange or Studio Theatre. You can also let us know your preference within your chosen price range and we will try to accommodate your choice (please note, this is subject to availability at time of donation).
We can’t guarantee you’ll be able to sit in your dedicated seat. However, if you book for a performance well in advance and advise the box office, it may be possible. As our venues are flexible spaces, dependant on the art-form, not all seats will be visible at every event.
We are in the process of confirming plaque size, style and design. We are working towards an approximate plaque size allowing 22 characters per line (44 characters in total across two lines), including spaces.
Once the plaque size, style and design has been confirmed we will ask you to complete a form to let us know your dedication. We will then send a letter to confirm we have the correct details.
Yes, if it is within the character limit, but there are some exclusions. These include logos, quotes, symbols and any dedication political in nature or liable to cause offence, therefore Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival reserves the right to request an alternative dedication.
The redevelopment is due to be completed in 2019 and we will be inviting all our seat supporters to a launch event nearer the time of opening.
